A standout moment for me was when I had been working with a client who was always saying paid social ads didn’t work for them. When I finally got them to commit to an ad spend, we saw a 7x ROAS. Through proper understanding of the market and consumer targeting, the ads were successful and the client was very impressed with results.

Let’s talk about social media contests!

A standout moment for me came after I was managing the social accounts for my association for about a year. We are a small staff, so I did everything related to social media (plus other jobs) for our group. One day an alert came up for our association’s name through Sprout’s keyword search in the smart inbox. It was from the Twitter (yes it was still Twitter!) account of a marketing professional that I hadn’t heard of. He was giving a talk to an audience about creating engaged social media followers. He used our association as an example! He made a joke about how he didn’t even know an association like ours existed, but he was impressed at how we were “doing it right” for social media. This stranger gave me a huge boost of confidence, but also showed the power of engagement and social listening.

Loving finding tools that integrate with each other to save me time so I can help our clients on a more personal level rather than having my time taken up by creating assets!

A social media win from this year was when I was working with a client, and I helped them achieve over 75,000 impressions in a quarter. The goal for the previous quarter was around 50,000 impressions, so I was proud of the strategy and focus that went into the process of surpassing that goal for the client.

My standout career moment was coming back to full time work again after 8 years of freelancing, and realizing that I hadn’t missed that much… By implementing very basic strategy and best practices, I was able to grow all the accounts I manage for 4 different entities by almost 200% each.

I had been really stressed about not knowing as much as people who never left full time, and I”m constantly learning, but realizing how the basics never go out of style was great.

A standout moment in my social media career was when my employer let us start incorporating more fun, authentic reels into our social strategy.

As a Client Success Specialist and Community Manager, I had a defining moment during a period of customer dissatisfaction.

To reshape our online narrative, I took on multiple responsibilities, including social support, email support, and social strategy. I personally engaged with users, addressing their concerns promptly and with dedication.

Using empathy, consistent updates, and professional communication, I prioritized and listened to each user.

his resulted in a significant improvement in our online reputation, with users expressing their appreciation and mentioning my name in positive reviews.

This achievement shows the strength of teamwork and perseverance.

Each positive review highlighted my dedicated efforts and the effectiveness of a proactive and personalized approach to customer success. Cheers to overcoming challenges, transforming setbacks into opportunities, and celebrating continuous improvement!

We used Choppity, an AI 🤖 powered tool that creates quick social media videos, to chop up longer form content and assumption test. Once we had positive signals that these short videos were generating engagement, we spent the time and energy internally to create a more polished version of each video! 🎉

A standout moment for me in my career as a Social Media Manager of B2B brands was June 2023, when I finalized my first social media strategy for the upcoming year with my VP of Marketing and presented the strategy to our wonderful CMO.

It was a huge moment for me because at every prior role in my social media career thus far, I have had to execute on someone else’s social media strategy, vs. having the opportunity to evaluate the current program, discover gaps, and create a strategy that will address the gaps that the prior social strategy did not address.

I was quite nervous going into the creation of the social strategy, as no one had ever asked me for my expertise on what a social program should look like. I was able to leverage data from Sprout Social’s reports, read insightful blogs, and use my own knowledge and prior experiences in managing social programs to back up my strategy.

My wish for 2024 is that all companies allow their SMM to have a seat at the strategy table and to be able to execute upon a strategy that they had a part in designing. And for SMM to be trusted to make final decisions on copy, holidays that the brand will post about, and post types that they will experiment with.

A special moment for me was when I left my old toxic boss and started at a different company. And I suddenly realized I have the authority and freedom to do social media however I think is best. Not as glamorous as the other confessions here, but it was a big deal for me.

So happy to hear that you are happy now. I think this is a huge and important moment in your career.
Cheering for you -- in order to get SMM to stay in social, we need to make sure they’re in a positive work environment.

A standout moment was getting executives to see the value of listening to the voice of our audience.  Asking for ideas gave some critical insight which you can’t buy.

A standout moment for me was realizing that posting on social for work can also translate into personal posts. I’ve embarked on a new journey for my personal accounts this year that has actually been far more rewarding than I anticipated. Everyone has a unique perspective to share and it’s so fun to engage with people in new ways.

An early stand-out when I was creating my role within a growing chain of neighborhood butcher shops was a Social Media Campaign for Valentine’s Day. ‘Looking for Love’ was a very simple scavenger hunt where each shop hid a DIY Valentine Heart. Each customer that found the heart and shared it on social media was entered in raffle to win 2 steaks for Valentine’s day. It helped me prove the power of social media to impact store traffic.

That and I had a lot of fun with meat puns and valentine’s day bad poetry.

My entry:

I work for a dental insurance company. Last year, I videotaped my daughter, who is a classically trained ballet amateur dancer, dancing the routine of the Sugar Plum Fairy (Nutcracker Suite), but dressed up as the tooth fairy showing smile-friendly stocking stuffers, like water bottles, toothbrushes, chocolate and more. I posted the video to TikTok, and it’s been my most popular video to date. I can’t link it due to firewall restrictions, but you can check out the pinned post @deltadentalar.
