Business Manager — Personal Profile for Business
Hi all! As you may know, Facebook requires users to use their personal profiles in order to manage, create, and execute tasks within the business manager and business pages. Do you have any recommendations on how businesses/agencies can set up a personal account that can function as a business admin? We often find that our external integrations from Facebook like Sprout and other reporting software need to be connect via personal profiles that are admins in our business manager, however, it would be nice if we had an account (personal profile) that we could use across the business in order to establish those connections. Please let me know your thoughts and best practices! Thanks in advance :)
Drop in Facebook engagement
For some reason, pretty much overnight, our facebook engagement rates dropped dramatically. I haven’t really changed anything specifically but it happened around the same time Meta Business Suite replaced creator studio. Has anyone else experienced this or got any advice? Thanks in advance :)
iPhone vs iPad for mobile device for your social media work?
I didn’t see any similar questions, but I’m looking for feedback on what kind of work-sponsored device I should be proposing: iPad or iPhone. I’m leaning towards the iPhone for easier mobility and (I suspect) better cameras. But are there other things to keep in mind? For example: does the SproutSocial app look and feel the same on iPhone vs iPad? Instagram is sometimes very particular about things - will using an iPad mean the sizing of images or videos will be “off” compared to uploading/publishing from iPhone? If you have gone through this process yourself and have any tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear your feedback or specific device recs. Thanks!
Question about setting up new company FB account
Hey everyone! This is my first post through the Arb so hopefully I do this right :)My company is in the process of deleting our current Facebook account and starting a new one (long story.) Ideally, we would have each person with admin permissions set up an individual page for themselves using their “@upgrade” email address, and then that page would be the one with admin permissions (as opposed to giving admin permissions to each person’s everyday page that they already use frequently.) We mainly want to do this for cybersecurity reasons.Has anyone tried this method before? Did it work? Did you run into any problems with Facebook, getting flagged, or anything of that nature? We’ve gone the rounds with Facebook a few times over a few different issues and their support team has been less than helpful, so we want to avoid doing anything that could get our page compromised or restricted in any way since we’re not confident in Facebook’s ability to fix problems.
Hashtag organizing feature in FB Groups gone?
One of the moderators for our organization’s Facebook group told me that they used to have the ability to add hashtags to posts in the group to organize them (e.g., look under a specific hashtag for all posts containing it within a group) but that it no longer works. I’m not well-versed in groups… does anyone know whether this can still be done or what changed?
Navigating Pharma Constrictions on Meta
I am dealing with a lot of very tight restrictions, as I currently work with a lot of client in the pharmaceutical (ophthalmology, mostly) space. I just have a number of things I encounter constantly so I thought I would throw a few out there. Has anyone had success with geotargeting as specific as, for example: all countries in europe but not the UK? It would be a pretty severe consequence if it did show up in the UK; again just as a recent example. Am I correct that I can turn off comments on an ad on Instagram, but not Facebook? Has anyone ever encountered the ability to limit sharing, as well? How do people navigate the rejections they encounter on Facebook from ads that are more explicitly pharma? One client has mentioned getting a rep? But I’m sus. I’m sure I have many more, but these are just immediate stressors. thanks in advance!
how important is LinkedIn for job search
LinkedIn is an essential tool for job search. It allows you to create a professional profile that can be seen by employers and recruiters, giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills, experience, and education in one place. Additionally, LinkedIn has a vast network of potential employers and recruiters who use the platform to find qualified candidates. With its advanced search capabilities, LinkedIn makes it easy to find job postings that match your criteria and connect with hiring managers directly. Moreover, LinkedIn offers additional features such as the ability to follow companies you’re interested in or join industry-related groups where you can engage with peers and potential employers. This gives you a chance to build relationships with people who could potentially help you land your next job. LinkedIn is an invaluable resource for job seekers looking to make connections and find new opportunities. Utilizing all of its features will give you the best chance of finding the
Engagement on TikTok posted through Sprout vs. natively
We've been posting our Tik Tok's through Sprout vs. natively, and one difference I've noticed is the decline in our views. When we were posting natively, we were able to add as many hashtags as we wanted in the post copy, which I think helped drive our views. Since posting through Sprout, I've noticed there is a character limit on the video description due to an API limitation. Because of this, we haven't been able to add in as many hashtags as before. My guess would be the decline in our views is a result of the lack of hashtags we've been using on our Tik Toks. Any other similar experiences?
Using TikTok Text-To-Speech for Paid Ads?
Super curious if anyone know the legalities of using Text-to-speech in paid ads on TikTok. I know in the past I wasn’t able to see Text-to-speech as an option on my brands accounts, but now it’s showing up. Just curious if anyone has ran into this or has a POV. I’m kind of in the “try it and find out” camp, but my production team is more risk adverse, haha.
Tweeting in the new (Musk) world order
I'm interested in how people are finding Twitter since the organisation was gutted and some new features appeared… I don't think it's all bad news, because I am enjoying using undo, and extended length, tweets, for example. However, I see a bunch of bugs that are persistent, and it's a shame to have lost local contacts and various other good parts of the platform (Moments RIP). I know some people in agency to advise all their clients to leave Twitter. But I work for a not-for-profit who use it daily and very effectively to reach different audiences. How do you view the outlook for Twitter and is it a central part of your social strategy?
Fbclid and boosting posts
We’ve never had a problem boosting posts with external links, but recently, Facebook start automatically adding a Facebook click ID (fbclid) to the URL. I went through the steps to remove this from our Google Analytics, but it still hasn’t removed it from Facebook. Posts with the fbclid aren’t eligible to be boosted. How do I get Facebook to stop added these? What’s the workaround?
Facebook group management - best practices & training
I’m looking for training for Facebook group admins. Our company has Facebook group for the people who utilize our service. The group is managed by the team that provides the service (not our social media team). Most of the admins don’t have a background in MarCom and they are looking for training and best practices for managing a Facebook group. Does anyone know of any good resources?
Are LinkedIn Groups still a thing? I know they exist, but does anyone use them as an active community? Are you a part of a LinkedIn group where users are having conversations? We have a few ‘official’ groups from my org and they used to be community-driven, healthy locations for conversations about specific topics. Now, all we see are promotional posts and little to no engagement by the community. We have a lot of members, and would like to get it back to what it was, but not sure LinkedIn Groups are still where that should be happening?
Interacting with Facebook Groups
The company I work for, has a tech product that is used largely by educators. There is a private Facebook group that is managed/ran by educators (this is not owned/ran/managed by our company), that is a hub for our product - everything from questions, comments, etc. Is there best practices on how to interact with this Facebook group that is not owned by us? Specifically to help with questions? I wasn’t sure if anyone else had any guidelines or experience with this!
Experience with Inflact Hashtag Generator?
For a client, I’m wanting to expand their (relevant) reach on Instagram. I know search keywords are highly impactful but I still like to use hashtags for additional reach, too! I’ve come across Inflact’s Hashtag Generator and am interested to see if anyone has used this as well? Do you believe the platform is safe?
How to best handle Twitter changes as a News Industry Sprout user?
Looking to get some industry insight from our invaluable Sprout Social Community for a Sprout customer. This customer works in the news/media space and has seen their journalist's Twitter followers decline in the last couple of months. We attribute some of this to Twitter bot clean up, but they are also curious if other news/media customers have seen something similar. They are also seeing a decline in potential Twitter impressions and are curious what other people in their space are experiencing. As a result of all of this, they are also looking for any tips specific to the news and media industry for growing followings on Instagram or Facebook - which, they say, has historically been difficult. Any recent news/media trends would be so appreciated!
Does Instagram's Branded Content Tool & Paid Partnership Label Decrease Influencer Post Reach?
Hey guys! I was wondering if you all could share some more information on how using the IG branded content tool and paid partnership label has worked for your brand (pros and cons), and if you have experienced and decrease in post reach by using the tool just for organic posts. Let me know what you think!
How to set up business location tag on Facebook/Instagram
Hi all! I am trying to set up the location tag for my business page(s). I have added my business address on Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile, my own website, and Apple maps. No matter what I try I cannot get my location to show up on Facebook or Instagram when trying to tag my location on a post. My page followers have said they cannot tag my location on their posts either. I tried to create a custom place on Facebook as well, but it still not does show up. Please let me know if you have run into this issue and what the resolution is. It is super frustrating, and happening to two of my different business pages.
LATAM Social Media Usage
Hi friends! Stephanie from the Sprout team here. 👋🏻I’m reaching out with a question on behalf of one of our customers and hoping the community may have some insight: they work with an agricultural company and are putting together a social strategy for launching a social media presence in LATAM (Mexico, Argentina and Colombia specifically). For this project, we’re looking for recent research on social media usage among farmers, ideally within the LATAM region. We’ve found some decent starting research that’s more generalized around social media platform usage in LATAM, but are curious for more focused research on behavior/usage trends among farming/agriculture so we know where to prioritize our efforts. Appreciate your help in advance!
Setting up new Meta account after old one was disabled
A handful of months ago, one of our clients ad accounts was disabled for unknown reasons. They took the usual steps to try and get it back up and running without any success. They even had one of their admins setup a new ad account and it worked for a bit to run ads through the new ad account, but that was disabled as well. And finally, we at the agency used one of our employee’s accounts that hadn’t ever been added to the client’s account to setup ads through yet another ad account which was also disabled. All of this to say… it seems that we’ve hit a dead end and need to explore other options. One of our options is to start a new FB page, new IG profile, and new ad account. Curious if anyone here has done this and has any things to think through before doing this? We obviously recognize that we would lose all of our current fans/followers, but right now paid is outweighing organic.
Customer-to-social media follower ratio
I have a client who is a dentist's office and they want to know if they have a good customer-to-social media follower ratio. They have 7500 clients and based on their follower count 17.83% of their customer base is following. I can't find any data about the actual number of customers to social media followers ratios. And what is considered a good or bad benchmark? Has anyone heard of this ratio before or have a source or data I could reference. Thank you in advance.
Should a brand have separate regional channels?
We are currently investigating if we should allow separate channels to our main group account. We are worried about brand confusion and dividing our followers but also having less people look at the main channel. There is not much info out there… some brands do it others don’t so I thought this community might have some interesting insights or opinions :)
Is Twitter still relevant?
Hello Marketers! I read and hear a lot about TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube but except the buzz around Elon Musk’s takeover of the platform, Twitter doesn’t seem to garner much interest anymore. I agree it’s a great tool to follow # trends, events, and news, for listening but other than that? I do B2B marketing and we poorly perform on Twitter, even ads don’t do much. Our growth is on YouTube and LinkedIn. 5+ years ago, Twitter got much greater returns organically (at another B2B company). I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
How do you handle music for Instagram reels?
My nonprofit has been experimenting with ways to use popular music on Instagram reels. One thing we’ve tried is downloading the song from TikTok and then uploading to IG. Does anyone else have good ideas for how to go about this? I’ve seen some pretty major accounts using popular music and can’t imagine they’re not using a business account (for example, the City of Detroit) because they definitely run ads. Wondering if there is a better way, or a training anyone is aware of for reels? Just to note: These are not ads or things where we’re trying to get donations or action, just engagement. Not trying to circumvent copyright law for business gain!
