Localized Facebook pages missing from Facebook Search Results

Has anyone else noticed that Facebook is no longer displaying search results for any local Facebook pages tied to your organization? We have our main accounts still visible in search in Facebook, but none of our other 200-some locally operated accounts are shown, even though the pages still exist. We are seeing other companies outside of healthcare with the same thing (Enterprise rental car company is only showing main brand account now too). Wondering if there was some Meta update we missed or if it just a glitch. Anyone have additional experiences or insight? Thanks!

Targeting non-followers on Meta

Hi Arb community! 👋🏻Stephanie from Sprout here, reaching out on behalf of one of my customers. We’re trying to confirm whether it’s still possible to exclude non-followers when building custom audiences for boosted posts (Facebook/Instagram). I thought I would tap into the brain trust and see if any fellow SMMs know either way?I’ve been doing some research and found that Meta is removing the option to add detailed targeting in January (https://www.facebook.com/business/help/440167386536513?id=176276233019487), so I’m also wondering if that could impact any current capabilities for excluding your existing audience/followers. Can you merge instagram and facebook pages?

We have aquired a company, and wanted to see if we could merge their business Facebook page and Instagram pages with our business Facebook and Instagram pages. Is this possible? I know we can add their pages to our business portfolio, but I wanted to know if we can merge them together (followers, etc.). I thought it was a few years ago, but may have changed. Thank you for any help - I always get the best resources here and I am so helpful!

Are frames useful on Instagram?

I’m the social media manager for a community bank that spans across Louisiana and Texas. Currently on our Instagram page, we put the majority of our pictures in branded frames. It’s just a kneejerk reaction from when the bank was smaller and needed to boost the brand recognition. Now that we’re a little larger, I’m not so sure it moves the needle at all and just clutters the feed. Does anyone have any insights about the use of branded frames on Instagram and whether or not they are actually helpful?

Should social media managers also have to be content creators (particularly for video)?

I’d love to hear people’s opinions on this! I’m a relatively senior social media manager (7+ years) and in my last role I worked hard to educate on how a social media manager also shouldn’t be your videographer, graphic designer and content creator (especially for reels and TikTok). I reached a point where I didn’t have to film anymore and only had to edit a video every couple weeks. I developed a network of content creators and influencers to produce video content instead so I could focus on strategy. Funnily enough it was very successful, crazy how much more I could achieve and enjoyed the job when I wasn’t bogged down in hours of editing. I’m in a new market and looking for a role and struggling to find a job where I’m not expected to shoot and edit all video content I’d be posting on social. It’s been frustrating landing interviews then finding out filming and editing is 50% or more of the role. I feel pretty strongly that a social media manager shouldn’t also have to be a conten

Recruitment Fraud: Job Scams

How is everyone dealing with the constant job scams and recruitment fraud? It used to only be on LinkedIn and we could get the scammer’s profile taken down but they are now just using text or apps like Signal or WhatsApp and basically un-reportable. We’ve reported each incident to the FTC and any apps where they took place, we’ve worked to have domains and emails shut down. We’ve got a pinned post on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram and we respond to all reports (public and private) with info on recruitment scams, how to report them and where to lean more. We’ve also added a banner that pops up when you visit our career site. Want to make sure we’re doing all we can to protect our communities, our reputation and our Talent Acquisition team who are constant targets of impersonation, especially as we continue to post legitimate jobs on social etc.
