I think the most important trend for social media will continue to be the use of video content. Videos that are eye-catching and entertaining, that leverage trending sounds/music, that are rough cut and polished, come across as authentic and real, AND have a good story-telling element -- both short form and long form (when appropriate) -- will (continue) to be a dominant trend for socials.

I also like the reminder that you have to not be burnt out in order to post authentically, even if that means scaling back the number of times you post.

Absolutely! Quality over quantity, and quality means being intentional.

Yay! Thank you so much!!

Sticking to brand voice and what works specifically for your audience while also mixing in new trends for the trial/error piece is important. Content will never look unique unless you try new things, so keeping with the authenticity of brand voice is critical in ensuring that consumers continue to come back for your content vs. content that just looks like others!

I second this: Virtual reality and augmented reality are a long term trend that could change the way we create, distribute and share social media. Both the social media public and pros would be affected by a big tech shift like that.
