Hey! Thanks. I am excited to be here. I’m Jhazzy Joiner. I am a Communications and Marketing Analyst. I run our socials and do my personal social media things. I enjoy Instagram the most because I feel it’s easier to connect with and meet people on there. One that I worked on was posting for our big annual event and there was just so much excitement from followers on socials about the event. My go-to tip is to change up methods, post some videos, some photos, on stories, etc. Use many tools to engage folks. I think the next big trend will be… hmm I am not sure. I will have to think on this. I hope to learn more about best practices from the community.

Hey all! Thank you for having me, my name is Laura and I am the Marketing Coordinator for a local historic hotel. My favorite platform is Instagram mostly because it’s visual and it gives creative folks like me more room to be expressive and creative. My favorite campaign was doing a photo contest and allowing our guests and fans of our hotel to post their favorite photos of the hotel and the winner got a prize! It was very engaging, I got some great photos out of it and it got a lot of responses! My go-to tip is to keep materials fresh and if you are promoting something, make sure to take several different kinds of photos so you can use them for future use! If I had to guess, I feel like video content will just get more and more demanded and I personally am trying to keep up with it. I am a team of 1-2 so it’s not always possible, but it’s definitely where everything is going. I am hoping to learn just tip and tricks. I try to just look at others accounts and posts and reels to see what’s working and what’s not. It’s always subjective so I am hoping to learn some real-life techniques that work. Thank you!


Hey y’all, my name is Eric and I am the Digital Content Producer at a non-profit aquarium in Niagara Falls, NY. I actually started this role after having been a marine mammal trainer for about 6 years. I still wanted to share the stories of our animals and help people connect with species they may never get to see even though I had to step away from training for a variety of reasons.  As a photographer, Insta holds a soft spot for me but as a small facility that is often overshadowed by larger markets like Buffalo, Toronto, and even the Canadian side of NF, the massive growth and awareness available when you go viral on Tik Tok is unique. I am particularly interested in the nuts and bolts of digital marketing. With a creative side and zoological background, I don’t struggle with content so much as KPI’s and the technical aspects of running and evaluating a campaign. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!


Hey team! I’m Landis, I am a Senior Communications Advisor for social media in health care. Favourite platform? Nexopia (full jokes, just looking for my generation on here - ha!) I still love Pinterest because I am such a visual person, I need to see how a creative idea can look before jumping into it myself. My favourite campaign is from a previous role many moons ago now. Let’s just say a police service throwing safety tips in with pop music references and Mario Kart. I’ve always found value staying up to date with social media for business use even when I wasn’t working in social media, so what better way than chatting with the sources?
