Does anyone have any content calendar templates outside of sprout social they like using? We currently use one note for our content calendar.

We use a spreadsheet! Honestly, it’s so low-tech, but it’s the perfect thing to track what we’re doing. Basically, we just have the days of the week in rows, and each platform has a column. Within each box, we include the text, related links, and links to imagery/graphic assets. I’ve tried so many options, and it’s so far the best one.

Our team uses Asana 🦄, we run social for two institutions so we can cross-tag tasks (posts) across multiple projects in order to view a combined calendar or institution-level calendars. Asana has a free version and also a non-profit discount available, plus guest-access accounts. If you need to manage requests, their form feature is pretty effective for intake.

There are multiple templates available directly in Asana specifically for content calendars. I find Asana’s tagging, task/post level discussion in Asana more useful (detailed/visual) for planning than Sprout’s Notes and Team conversation. Dropping in files for content or inspiration is also very intuitive in Asana. I usually have Asana content calendar project tab and Sprout publish tab going at the same time.

We use a spreadsheet - handy that we can run pivots off of our content to track the numbers, types and content areas each month.
