It’s time to share your weekly update on all the things which happened this week in social.

Watch me and @Jonathan Zuluaga dig into the latest now:

Thanks, for the update! I think a lot of us Social Media Managers don't have a choice to be Content Creators as well as Managers. I am a two man show and I have to create my own content as well as manage everything. 😊

@chasity.rodriguez I hear that so often! When I was in a similar role that was my experience as well. How to balance your time? Do you time block or have designated dates?

Feel free also chime in here:

Yes exactly I block out time for certain tasks and then block out days I can lead and be an actual manager. I think block out time is very important. If I didn’t I would get overwhelmed.

Another great episode today, @Laura Porcincula & @Jonathan Zuluaga!

I think whether or not the manager of your Social Program needs to create content will depend largely upon the size of your team. In 2023, most of us are writing posts, creating images, and managing social from a strategy level, too.

However, some may define ‘Content Creation’ as in terms of creating longer-form pieces. Personally, I don’t enjoy writing long-form stuff these days. And I’m so grateful that we have a team for that. But one of my writers for social also writes our blogs. And I do think that gives her a really great perspective to write social copy from.

I am so incredibly glad that this cross-platform messaging is finally disappearing. For years, I would have Facebook users DMing our Instagram account, and it was visible nowhere except the IG app - not Sprout, not Business manager, desktop, nada. I tried working with Meta support multiple times where they had no clue what was going on or that this was even a feature.

Small win for me today!

I’ve been keeping an eye on some of the trend reports from all the big platforms, and along with the one from Instagram, I thought I’d also share these:

The list keeps growing, but it’s so interesting to see overlaps as well as how the platforms differ!

Thank you for sharing these @Carla.J! Looks like I have some reading to catch up on.
