Carousels on LinkedIn

We’ve had a ton of success posting Carousels (Document posts) on LinkedIn this year. The engagement is off the carts - typically about 3-4X the engagement we’d see from an image post, and even higher than a video post (most of our image posts perform better than our video posts on LI).

Plus, they’re a great format to share more complex/in-depth messaging.

Hey @joyous.kramer, that’s awesome you’ve seen such high engagement from document posts! I haven’t explored that kind of post yet on LinkedIn, is it mostly informative PDF’s, or what kind of documents are you sharing?

Thanks!

@jaxn.engstrom Thanks! We use them for everything from product info to customer case studies to employee awards, etc. Here’s a recent example of an informational product post we did @ some product updates: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7265132808023470080

I’ve enjoyed them, too, and noticed similar results! Last week, a member here dropped the phrase “zero-click content” and that’s high on my creation list for 2025.

@joyous.kramer Thanks for the example, this looks awesome! Does Sprout support that? I think I’ve uploaded multi-image posts before through Sprout and they populate as just a group of images.

Thanks for the help!

That’s awesome! Revitalizing my current org’s LinkedIn has been a favorite project of mine. I’d love to experiment more with docs for higher ed/arts space.

@jaxn.engstrom No, I don’t think Sprout supports publishing these yet in their platform. But you can schedule them natively on LinkedIn now at least (so don’t have to do it all same-day). I normally login to my Sprout Publishing calendar and see what the best time of day to post on LI is, then schedule my “Document” post natively on LI for that time.

@Brittany Taylor you’re exactly right! Zero click content is key, as more and more users aren’t willing to leave their feed and link off platform. And these Document “Carousel” posts are a great way to get your whole story in w/o them ever needing to click off feed.

we upped our “no URL” content this year and thanks to Sprout tagging, could show others the uptick in engagement over posts with URLs… it opened some eyes! I summarize blogs and case studies in copy and find a compelling picture right now, and hoping to create a carousel template so I can test out blogs this way.

Very interesting insight, thank you! I have been wanting to do more carousel posts, but I’m a bit sad that Sprout doesn’t support this type of post yet. It is indeed keeping me from doing more carousels.
