Since LinkedIn has brought “impressions” to commenting, it’s made it as clear as ever how much visibility your direct engagement strategy brings. I’d love to be able to quantify that and share the impact with leadership.
Is there a way to see this data for comments in Sprout? Or is anyone finding a way to do this?
At some point someone shared how to do it from a person page, but I don’t think I’ve seen the same options for a company page. Thanks all!

@sdtitmas Thanks for the added context here!
Totally hear you on wanting to get that specific number into a Sprout report. Here is the 'behind-the-scenes' on why that’s tricky and how you can still highlight this to your leadership:
1. The Tech Reality: Currently, LinkedIn's API (the 'bridge' that sends data to Sprout) doesn't share impression data for comments made by Company Pages on external posts. Even though you can see that number natively on LinkedIn, they haven't 'opened the door' for third-party tools to pull that specific metric into an automated report yet.
2. How to Quantify the Impact in Sprout: Since we can't automate that specific 'Comment Impression' number, here is how I recommend tracking the 'brand touches' you're making:
Tagging Sent Messages: This is my favorite 'pro tip.' In the Smart Inbox, you can tag the replies and comments your team has sent as part of this strategy (e.g., #CommunityEngagement). At the end of the month, you can run a Tag Report for Sent Messages. This allows you to show leadership the exact volume of organic 'brand touches' your team generated, even when the impressions stay hidden.
Correlation via Profile Views: Check your LinkedIn Pages Report in Sprout for the dates those comments went viral. You’ll likely see a spike in Unique Visitors or Page Views. You can frame this to leadership by saying: 'Our engagement on high-traffic industry posts drove a [X%] lift in profile traffic this month.'
Manual Highlights: For those 'star' comments that really take off, I always recommend grabbing a screenshot of the native LinkedIn analytics. If you have Premium Analytics, you can drop those screenshots directly into your Sprout Report using a Note or Image Widget to give leadership the full picture of your wins.
Also, please feel free to submit this as an idea which feeds directly into our product team! We know how much impact these 'micro-moments' have!
Quick follow up, to confirm do you mean commenting on other businesses pages and tracking those impressions or just the business page that you manage?
Hey Max! Specifically talking about when I comment (as the company/business page) on other people’s or brand’s post. The impressions on some of our comments to other pages out perform our regular posts 🤣 And I’d love to somewhat emphasize the importance of this to leadership.
