Rednote?

I made an account as a personal user but I haven’t heard much about brand usage yet. I’d be curious to hear from other marketers who manage brand Tiktok accounts!

I have decided not to secure our brand name on there or lemon8. My prediction has been that the Supreme Court ruling will shut TikTok down temporarily and Trump will figure out a deal where Musk takes over and then it is anyone’s guess what will happen. I’ve been saying it for months. Let’s see where that goes. 

I looked at it from a personal account perspective, but that’s about it. Given that it is also China-based and not a perfect replacement, it isn’t something I’m considering from a brand angle, because the odds of it getting banned or being viewed as highly suspicious after everything with TikTok are quite probable.

I’m also encouraging anyone who asks to just take a deep breath and wait to see how it all plays out. In the meantime, focus on the other platforms where your audience is and giving the quality content.

We created an account to secure the handle and get the wave of Americans before the ban. For now we are posting some of our TikTok content on Rednote until we know more

We joined Red a couple of years ago as China is a big market for us. We’ve been using it more as an Instagram Grid channel rather than TikTok so was weird to hear so many American’s jumping there to replace TikTok than Douyin which is the same thing
