Hi! Thanks for the warm welcome. My name is Kathy Cline; I am a public information officer and social media content creator for the Arizona Department of Transportation. I really got into social media during my time at two radio stations here in Phoenix - posting breaking news on Twitter, stories on Facebook, things like that - but it was a team leadership change here at ADOT that really boosted my knowledge and use of social media. Our new leader is very knowledgeable about social media and what it can do; he’s encouraged and pushed all of us to learn even more about it and use it. It’s worked - our audiences are up across all platforms and our presence is poised to grow even more in the future.
 

💻 Favorite Platform: Which social media platform do you find most captivating and why? I find Instagram the most captivating, both for showing quick glances behind the scenes and reaching young people. 

🚀 Campaign Highlight: Share a standout campaign you've either worked on or really admired. What made it so perfect? During a recent visit to the Globe, Arizona area, I took some work-zone video of a well-known bridge that is being replaced. The resulting video has been used multiple times on IG Stories to notify people when project-related road closures are taking place. It’s gotten a lot of views every time it’s put up and really shows the bridge and area very well.

💡 Expert Advice: What’s your top tip for crafting killer social media content? Pay attention to other DOTs (or other companies/agencies in your field). Study their top content and why it’s so compelling.

🔮 Future Trends: What do you think is the next big thing in social media, and how are you getting ready for it? LinkedIn is growing by leaps and bounds. A part of our team is crafting lots of content showing our agency and what goes on with it; I think this will be a huge asset in showing potential employees and the public what we do and how we do it.

🧠 Learning Objectives: What are your goals for learning and achieving within our community? 1. Getting inspiration for good content; 2. How to read social media numbers and apply them to OUR particular brand; 3. Crafting content that is well-written and visually compelling (how to take better pictures/video; writing tips for different SM platforms)

Hi! I’m Addie, a Client Success Associate at a PR and social agency. I focus on social strategy, influencer marketing, and content creation for a mix of clients—from HVAC to life sciences to home improvement. I fell in love with social because of how quickly it evolves and how much creativity it allows. There’s always a new trend, tool, or voice to learn from.

💻 Favorite Platform
Instagram (for Reels) is where I have the most fun—it’s the best mix of creativity, discoverability, and community-building. That said, I’ve been getting more into LinkedIn lately and love the storytelling potential there when it’s done right.

🚀 Campaign Highlight
One recent highlight: a dog-focused summer influencer campaign for an arboretum client. We leaned into seasonal trends, repeated our top-performing creators, and focused on short-form video—and it worked. Seeing community engagement and creator enthusiasm line up felt like a win across the board.

💡 Expert Advice
Know your audience, but don’t be afraid to surprise them. Content that’s too on-brand can be forgettable. The sweet spot is when your content feels human and strategic.

🔮 Future Trends
I’m keeping an eye on AI tools for content creation and planning—especially ones that help with visual generation or trend prediction. I’m also interested in how niche communities are growing through private groups and DMs, not just feeds.

🧠 Learning Objectives
I want to sharpen my ability to translate brand goals into high-performing content and get better at testing/iterating across platforms. I’m especially here to learn from others’ wins, misses, and strategies—I love a good behind-the-scenes breakdown.
