    Hey all! I’m Al Campion, and I recently started as the Assistant Director of Social Media for Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I’ve always been attracted to social media’s ability to bridge our understandings of places and people far beyond our day-to-day lives, so I’ve been working in this sphere for my entire career (though the industry has changed dramatically).

     

    My favorite mini-campaign that I’ve ever been part of was helping Terrence Shannon Jr. release his limited-edition upside-down banner tee, after his banner was accidentally unveiled upside-down during his return to State Farm Center. The shirts were even worn during a Timberwolves broadcast, creating a true viral moment for Terrence and the Boys and Girls Club that proceeds were donated to.

    Hi friends, I’m Erica Benton. I recently started here at Sprout Social as the Director of Customer Marketing (and yes, my team are the ones who run this special community space!) I’m coming to Sprout after a decade running Customer Marketing and the Marketing & Communications PMO at LinkedIn. Prior to that, I was running communications and social media for various B2B technology companies. Fun fact: I first came across Sprout when I was running social media at a startup 15 years ago!

    I’m particularly passionate about the role social media plays across the customer journey -- the various ways in which customers seek information/validation, engage with brands, and learn from peers throughout the buying, adoption and advocacy cycles. Can’t wait to learn from Sprout customers and members of The Arb what you’re seeing and how you’re shaping your strategies to meet your customers where they are throughout their journey!

    Hi all! I’m Samantha, and what I love about social media is the ability to educate people in little bite-size pieces of content for micro-learning. The challenge of making the educational content entertaining has always been captivating to me.

    My favorite platform is Instagram. I feel like there is a lot of opportunity for growth on the channel through all the different media types on Instagram.

    My favorite campaign to date to work on is this current one I am planning right now! I can’t wait to be able to share more details on how it goes and see how it turns out. But HUGE shout out to the webinars that Sprout Social has been having lately for inspiring it :)
