ToDo lists are essential productivity winners, but with all the different apps, spreadsheets, I find I still miss essentials. I’ve found since writing my daily lists by hand, I’ve been knocking my tasks out of the park. At the end of the day, a new list must be written, and anything not done that day is re-entered by hand onto the new list. Great way of keeping tasks to mind.
Yes! Always hand written!
To-do lists all the way!!
I do this! I have a fairly simple weekly planner that I use almost exclusively for work (with some important personal dates in there too do I don’t forget to take PTO for them, etc.). I’ll write down a to-do list, then at the end of the day, I make time to plan the next day’s to-dos. I go through each of the items I didn’t get to finish that day, draw an arrow through the checkbox, then rewrite it for the next day. If I find there’s a task I’m simply not completing, it helps me to reevaluate my priorities for that week and reflect.
I try not to make my list too long, maybe 7 or 8 items max. Things like emails and community management don’t need to be written (for me), but breaking down post creation is definitely something I like to write out.
I love this! Great tip.
This is so validating for me because similarly, I have yet to find a digital to do list or task/project software that is more effective than my notebook where I write down daily to do lists. I like the option to create templates with digital task managers, but things still slip through the cracks. I end up just using my Outlook calendar for reminders to complete recurring/monthly tasks and hand writing all the daily tasks.
100% about writing the to do list out. I swear my brain doesn’t engage the same way with the digital lists or even calendar notes.
