A timer. For productivity? Groundbreaking.

I know, I know. But I set the timer once an hour to remind myself to get away from my desk and stretch my legs, so I don’t fall into the rabbit hole of my inbox and tabs and tasks.

Taking a few moments to step away and reflect on the last hour and what I’ve accomplished in that time breaks things up nicely. It also makes my day feel more manageable, so I’m less likely to suffer from Fried Egg Brain, which is not a productive form of brain. 🍳

I do this!! It definitely helps me. I’m the type of person who could rot in front of a computer all day, but I’m also someone who wants to hit 10k steps and maintain some kind of health in this corporate world. Timers have been such a game changer for me! I regulate my steps, reset my mindset, and tend to drink more water. It’s a win-win.

This is a great reminder to leave the desk for a moment! I’m bad about ignoring my timer to get up and away from work for a few minutes.

Definitely a great tip! I like to set a timer to complete small tasks and get them out of the way. Then dive deep into projects that need more focus. Otherwise, my day would fill with all the hundreds of small requests that I get!

I definitely need to start doing this, I am guilty of falling down the rabbit hole.

hehe… I have a dog for this! We take a midday walk and that mental break from the laptop is very helpful. She also let’s me know when it’s meal time, snack time, water time, potty break time... I’m always moving around thanks to her!
