Question

How did you actually protect your energy in 2025?

Hey everyone!

Reflecting a bit on the last few days of 2025. I spent a lot of this year realizing that doing good social work and doing everything are not the same thing. Between new platforms, faster turnarounds, and the always-on pressure, I had to get more honest about what was sustainable for me.

What’s one boundary, system, or mindset shift you put in place in 2025 that helped protect your energy or prevent burnout?

Curious how others navigated this and how we can all better protect our peace in the new year!

Great reflective question! I’d say, in general, there needs to be push back. I’m, not sure what happens when people who previously did social hire someone or a team and then they exponentially expect output to expand. Weird.

I’ve given my self permission not to know all trends. It’s taking a step back from that always on and admit I won't know all the things, and that is ok and dosent diminish my expertise.

@TAMAYS so smart and love that you push back when needed too.

Great question, @Maxpete. Entering 2026, I want to be mindful of how I’m extending or sharing my emotional, mental, and even physical space.

This is definitely a work in progress! In 2025, I used data to heavily advocate for more social media support. Fingers crossed it pays off in 2026!

I lean into the data to see what’s driving our business forward, and that gives me runway to pull back (or let go altogether) on platforms where our audience isn’t engaging.

@lisa.rodrigo a great reminder on the importance of capturing data and acting on that (ramping up or down) based on what’s happening. Thanks for this!
