I find that sitting in the same environment day in and day out - whether you work from home or in office - can often stifle productivity and creativity.

If you have the flexibility, work from a coffee shop for a few hours or even just work from a different room in your home (the kitchen table instead of your office) or a different space in your office building (get outside on the patio if you have one or hang out in a lounge space).

A simple change of location can sometimes break the monotony and help stimulate your brain with new ideas from your surroundings.

I don’t have that flexibility in my work space, but what I find helps is getting up for a quick power walk around the block. I work from home and just walking away from my home office helps break up that monotony and gets the brain juices flowing again. Thanks for sharing your tip!

Great idea!!

@kristint Yes, absolutely! Getting moving and getting outdoors does wonders, too.

Great tip! I’m so used to telling myself “I’ll go stand up/step out after finishing ___” and then keep pushing it off. I should challenge myself to go out for a power walk even if it’s only 5-10 minutes and prioritize doing that each day!

Agreed! I try to plan 1 coffee shop outing a week to switch things up.

This is KEY! So glad you brought this up. I upgraded recently to a standing desk and even the shift from sitting to standing can have a profound impact on my productivity.

Happy working!!

Agreed, but I need my multiple screens to be most effcient. To help I mix up sitting, standing, or walking pad. Or I do a quick 10 min walk about. If I’m home I light different candles. Scent does wonders to activate the brain in different ways!

I totally agree! I just need a portable monitor to help me with all the screens that I need!
