Wish I could make it--I’ll be on the road. Catch you next time!
@Brittany Taylor come back tomorrow for opportunities to engage and win!
Where can I find the event? I signed up for it through the email, but I’m not seeing the live session.
Enjoyed hearing about everyone’s approaches to employee advocacy, how they are doing video, changing content of social posts for each platform, and how a larger team is structured (as a current one-person team hoping to grow next year).
I will try some of the tips on easy videos (putting text over a spanning shot) and slightly adjusting social posts per platform as experiments soon!
Great conversation today! Was interesting to learn about how other organizations are handling comments on social media - hiding, vs blocking vs responding. There’s not a one size fits all approach.
Biggest takeaway -
Meeting and interacting with others in similar roles is incredibly valuable. As someone who works on a small, solo social media team, I sometimes feel isolated and struggle to find fresh approaches to projects. Hearing about others’ experiences, their strategies, and challenges helps me expand my own perspective and encourages me to try new approaches.
I would love to attend more networking events like this!
Happy working!!
We talked a lot about data, attribution, and analytics. And it was a reminder, that that gives people comfort in understanding social media and the magical thinking that sometimes comes with it. I think I’m going to spruce up my data dashboard and give some callouts to help clients like when X happens, that a good indicator that the kpi we set up in the strategy is heading in the right direction. I think it’ll give them more confidence and help to prove the ever elusive ROI.

Curious what the best kind of “nugget” is to share with leadership - what really gets them to see social’s impact

Data and analytics have become so important to our team over the past year. Wish I could’ve been in two breakout sessions at once!
I’m a team of one, so fresh perspectives from different industries can always provide a fresh perspective on how you approach your own strategy and tactics. And, despite our differences, we all could bond over our “Barbara in Florida” (a group 2 IYKYK )

Highly recommend following duekneel for quick tips on editing social video
My group talked about analytics for a bit and I really liked one of the tools that was brought up called Reportei. I definitely will be looking into it to see how our offices could benefit from something like this!

That’s exciting you’ll be exploring different types of videos to see what resonates with your audience! Something I did last year for our team is create a “Platform POV.” This was an overview of each social platform we had and outlined 4 key things: Purpose, Audience, Success, and Frequency. That helps me today with curating the messaging across platforms. Hope that might spark some ideas!

I second this! Loved being able to chat with others in social!!

Curious what the best kind of “nugget” is to share with leadership - what really gets them to see social’s impact
Two key “nuggets” from presenting to senior leadership have been the total number of views (impressions/reach) and engagement rates on our posts. These were two metrics I emphasized in my reports to ensure they fully understood their significance.
Each person you deliver to is different in what they’re looking for so asking a simple question like, “What do they care about,” could lead you to what “nuggets” you might want to share.

Definitely love the idea of easy videos….its becoming such a time consuming thing to make in addition to ALL THE OTHER THINGS

I think it’s a balance of playing toward the ego and the business results that person wants. Some people want to see their name in lights or be popular, so I’ll contextualize things that are important to achieve in that light so they now care while also making sure the important things happen for the business.

We all have our Barbaras to deal with!!

I love the Platform POV idea! Great way to frame it.
I was with a group of solo social media teams--it was a good reminder of where I started. I feel lucky to be a team of four.
Some takeaways - LinkedIn seems to be where it’s at for many marketers. My company is active on LI, but it doesn’t fall under my social sphere. I’ll be brainstorming some ideas of how our brand content could be utilized on LI more.
Thanks for a good chat Room 2!
I was mostly listening in as I was able, while traveling through some rough weather. Hearing the day-to-day ideation, struggles, and inspirations, and techniques over a coffee chat format was empowering. I’d love to see this format used while discussing creative ways to use automation and AI in social media - while remaining grounded, authentic, and engaged in organic ways with audiences.

Marisa, I definitely think short-form video has a lot of possibilities (especially going into 2025)!

100%. That’s one of the benefits of being involved in a community such as this one, so that even if you’re a solo businessperson, work from home, etc., it’s a way to be connected in several different ways!
