I have ran a chat on Twitter since May 2016. Celgene started it in March 2016 and my org took over and the two largest funders of pancreatic cancer research as well as experts in the field (from Weill Cornell/NYP, MD Anderson, UTSW, etc.) are co-hosts. It’s global once a year and we often have more organizations joining from different parts of the world.

We are now revisiting our position on Twitter/X, but want to continue with the same question and answer format. I really don’t feel Threads is the right place for this as the PC community there is not large and the majority of our doctors/researchers are on Twitter/X as well as medically savvy patients.

Are any of you running chats like this? And if not, do you have any suggestions about where you think a chat like this might prosper?

Hear me out… I also wouldn’t do Threads…. but I wouldn’t sleep on Facebook. What if you did a group for this? Wouldn’t have to even be specific to the event, could live on and be evergreen... more of a community management play.

I find clinicians really aren’t active on LinkedIn… especially the MDs and DOs. Many only see it as a means to find a new job, so they’re not as chatty there. But I could see a dedicated Facebook group for something like this working vs. X.

Could be something that you pitch… and while it won’t live publicly on a timeline, you could still report out on group members, engagement, etc.

Once the event is over, you could keep it alive by posting resources there, promoting next year’s event….
