CapCut's Updated New Terms

CapCut quietly updated their terms and it gives them all the rights to your content including the ability to use, modify, and profit from it!! 👀

I’ve seen a lot of buzz about this on LinkedIn and Reddit. What are your thoughts on this? What other alternative editing apps are you using?

From a brand standpoint I definitely won’t be using CapCut, too high of a brand risk for a third party to have access to modify and profit off of our content. I’m looking into the Instagram Edits app. Veed is also a good alternative if you were primarily using capcut to auto generate captions!

I’m using Alight Motion, and it is good if you are just starting your journey.

Wow, thanks for mentioning this. I agree, this is a risk when creating content for a brand. I have been alternating between CapCut and Edits, and will stick solely to Edits for now!

I first gave Edits a try in hopes of Instagram algorithms favoring the content. I did see a spike in engagement on a few posts made with Edits, but nothing conclusive.

Does anyone know if past content created/stored in CapCut is safe or is now apart of the new T&C?
