Twitter/X

My biggest dislike and what makes me feel most uncomfortable about working in social media. We’ve stopped using it as an organisation and I wonder how many other brands are moving away from active posting?

We haven’t posted on Twitter/X in about 2 (maybe 3!) years.

We were not getting any sort of meaningful engagement. Our profile is still active for Customer Care purposes.

We still use X, but there is very low engagement and, the engagement we have, seems to be from spam accounts. Having said that, I don’t think we will move away from X because there’s other defense organizations that actively use the platform.

We are still using it but see much better engagement on LinkedIn.

We are still using it because our City Manager loves it. But every week we are losing more followers. And we are starting to just copy what we are posting on Facebook to keep it alive.

We’re in a similar boat to what Melissa said - we’ve stopped posting, but are keeping the account live (potentially for customer care issues). We’re thinking about moving to BlueSky to capture a similar audience - wondering if anyone has seen successes or pain points with BlueSky?

We were never super engaged on Twitter, but I find that I gravitate more towards threads when I do want a text-based post. More sense of community there.

That’s super valid @charlotte.sweet and seems like a lot of other organizations are moving away as well. For us, we have a pretty active community in the adaptive gaming sphere who use X so for us we want to keep up with our channel there. For others, I can see using something like Threads or Bluesky.

I basically just schedule out posts in Sprout on X and don’t do too much else with it. It is not a big draw for our clients but I like to keep a presence on there since is is public facing.

We’re still active on X, posting similar content to our LinkedIn - but have seen a major dip in growth and engagement (HUGE drop in followers in Nov - could be tied to politics). Most new follows look to be bots/fake accounts. Similar to others mentioning above, we’re mainly staying for now for potential customer support and to make sure a competitor doesn’t take our handle.

We parked a seat on BlueSky (not actively posting) to save our handle, and continue to evaluate how much longer to stay on X. Curious if others are active and seeing results on BlueSky?

Good to know! I noticed a major dip in growth and engagement in November and even over the last week and a half.
