Growing Blue Sky Profile

Hi does anyone have any advice about getting more followers, likes, etc on Blue Sky? I’ve been following trending topics, commenting on other account’s posts and sharing daily posts but haven’t seen much of a response. Would appreciate some advice!

I’m a heavy Bluesky user personally and am growing our brand account there. It’s much easier to grow my personal account because I sh!tpost a lot.

Have you looked for relevant hashtags? Those are pretty big to follow. As well as feeds. I was a beta user (like sub 200k users) and used one of my invites to get our brand on there and then set up the feed that is our topic (pancreatic cancer) and have had a running starter pack of people in our niche others can follow. This helped a lot and continues to help.

Consistency is key and there is not an algorithm, so make sure you’re getting your message out there with smart copy that has your brand keywords and that your user profile is optimized.

And don’t take bad advice from me, but sometimes I do go rogue and am a little unhinged while being totally on brand.

Think @lisa.frame has covered the main points. It’s a slog and no Reels/TikTok style super exposure. You’ve got to engage and interact with other content and post valuable content to encourage others to want to follow your account. Setting up your own feed can help, as well as getting on to other peoples’ starter packs.

We have several clients on BlueSky now and, because of the newness and uncertainty of the platform, our team has been duplicating content from X to minimize time spent and try to build a following and community. We’re finding that BlueSky is growing quite slow for brands, but tagging and engaging with relevant accounts and content can help your reach.

Super helpful. I also struggle to grow our brand on Bluesky. May accounts switched to Bluesky but are not posting anymore, or way less. Many accounts are empty.. that’s a bit frustrating meaning that, even if I tag, I will not receive any interaction from it. Customer support (Sprout) wrote me that Sprout will implement BlueSky during H2 2025. Fingers crossed. I would love that!!!
