Hello!

Our website was recently flagged for accessibility issues, and now my managers are putting a lot of pressure to make social media more accessible as well. I agree that it is important, but without being able to schedule alt text for Instagram via Sprout, how is everyone doing this?

I am a team of one, and I manage multiple channels and post multiple times a day. Do I need to manually add the alt text every single time a post goes out? That seems unsustainable, especially if I am busy in meetings or traveling.

Hi @kristen.franca, I love this question. Arboretum member @AlexaHeinrich is an expert in social accessibility and recently partnered with us on an event to create inclusive social content.

Here’s a link to the recording:

In some of Alexa’s posts, I’ve seen her add the alt text under the caption like you would with hashtags.

Thank you so much, Laura! I will look into all of this.
