How is your team positioning the likely drop in reach/engagements on social media due to the intensity of the election season?

Hi! It’s a challenging period. I’m framing this as a potential dip in engagement, as people may spend less time on social media due to election-related burnout. I'll be analyzing data from the week before, during, and after the election to identify trends. I’ve also shared articles on steps companies like Meta took during the last election cycle that likely influenced social media dynamics.

I’m also planning to pull back on posting, noting that sharing content during this period could come across as insensitive and potentially impact the brand negatively. However, posting less may also result in a general month-over-month drop in engagement.

Basically telling my boss exactly that and sending out good vibes that things normalize in a few weeks. Doesn’t help that we’re a government agency, and Facebook has a hard time understanding how we’re not all elected officials - so we tend to get docked even more, even when I’m mostly posting about fishing and fuzzy wildlife 🤷‍♀️

I work in healthcare -- pancreatic cancer. It is awareness month and numbers are down across the board. I wish I were making this up. It has not really affected us since 2016, but we are definitely seeing it this year.
