Question

Interacting with Facebook Groups

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

The company I work for, has a tech product that is used largely by educators. There is a private Facebook group that is managed/ran by educators (this is not owned/ran/managed by our company), that is a hub for our product - everything from questions, comments, etc. Is there best practices on how to interact with this Facebook group that is not owned by us? Specifically to help with questions? I wasn’t sure if anyone else had any guidelines or experience with this!

We are having the same issue! It’s challenging when you are not the owner. We have been playing it case by case, but if there is a major issue we will have our support team reach out to the customer separately off social media to “check-in”. They have not been mentioning that they saw the post on social to avoid like we are “spying” on them. I am not sure if you have tried other methods, I would love to hear!

Would it be possible to reach out to the moderators of the group and ask them this question directly? I’ve found that’s typically the best strategy when it comes to groups - usually moderators value that transparency and communication up front. If not, is it possible to join the group as the company itself? I know some groups allow this and some don’t, but that could also be a good way to show up and offer support.
