Hello!

We use Sprout tags on every post, tagging by department. So, theoretically, our tag report should give a pretty good idea of how well our overall performance is.

The engagement rate between the report on “profile performance” versus “tag performance” for the same period and the same platform is VERY different. Can anyone help me understand why this is?

Hi, Tiffany! Are you using multiple campaigns/labels on your posts? That could explain the different metrics your getting.

Hi, Tiffany! Aside from the potential reason that @samantha.hart mentioned, another thing that could explain this is whether you have filtering on in any way. For instance, with the tags, you can select different message types, and also it can sometimes default to different time frames. Additionally, it may be that all the data for a time period isn’t available yet.

We have a similar setup, and when I did a comparison between the tag and profile reports, there was a difference of .43% in our engagement rates.

Those are the only things that come to mind for me, @tiffany.cooke. I’d recommend reaching out to Sprout for a more in-depth explanation if you can’t get one on here, though!
