Hello! My name is Lisa Alberta. I’m the marketing director for a local health club and I’m looking for tips on how to build out our Listening Topics. Hoping to connect with others in the industry that can help with keywords, themes etc. Right now when we look at the data, there is a lot of “noise” and we’re trying to customize our topic so that we are aware of the conversations going on in our town in and around fitness. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone!I’ve been managing the social accounts of different brands for the last decade, and I’m coming across a situation I’ve never encountered before.TL;DR: our company was merged with another, completely changing our product roadmap, much to the disdain of current users (who the product is no longer geared towards). It has resulted in quite the backlash onto our social channels. Every post is met with comments about how awful our product is, how we don’t listen to the customer base, etc. What are some successful community management tactics you’ve employed when company changes disrupt the community?
Hey Sprout Community! My team has several clients connected to our Sprout and we have recently had issues reconnecting the LinkedIn company pages back to Sprout after the connection expires. We heard through the grapevine that this is due to LinkedIn updating their API to requiring a Super Admin privilege to connect to Sprout. Has anyone else had this problem within the last week or so?
Hi all - I’m trying to schedule my TikToks and am getting the following error: Uploading a custom thumbnail is not supported by TikTok.” How do I remove the custom thumbnail? I am not intentionally adding it nor need it. I’m uploading my .mov and it’s automatically creating a thumbnail in Publisher. Is there any way around this? TIA!
Hey SproutSocial Community!I work at a school district and want to have a HS student ‘takeover’ the district’s Instagram account to share ‘a day in the life at from a HS student perspective’. My question is - has anyone done a Instagram takeover yet through sprout? If so, what recommendations do you have for permissions? I was thinking I would set him up in Sprout but would give him ‘needs approval’ access for the Instagram account. That way I don’t share the password, and he still gets access to post, and I get to see it first before it’s LIVE. Any suggestions? Anything I’m missing? - Caitlin
According to Sprout Social data, 40% of social pros say they experienced burnout recently. Which isn’t surprising for folks who spend the majority of their roles being the frontline for the brands they work on. It’s important to not suffer in silence and speak to your manager before you completely burnout. Check out the newest article from the Sprout Social blog on various approaches and strategies: https://sproutsocial.com/insights/talking-to-your-boss-about-burnout/
Hi friends! Stephanie from the Sprout team here. 👋🏻I’m reaching out with a question on behalf of one of our customers and hoping the community may have some insight: they work with an agricultural company and are putting together a social strategy for launching a social media presence in LATAM (Mexico, Argentina and Colombia specifically). For this project, we’re looking for recent research on social media usage among farmers, ideally within the LATAM region. We’ve found some decent starting research that’s more generalized around social media platform usage in LATAM, but are curious for more focused research on behavior/usage trends among farming/agriculture so we know where to prioritize our efforts. Appreciate your help in advance!
A handful of months ago, one of our clients ad accounts was disabled for unknown reasons. They took the usual steps to try and get it back up and running without any success. They even had one of their admins setup a new ad account and it worked for a bit to run ads through the new ad account, but that was disabled as well. And finally, we at the agency used one of our employee’s accounts that hadn’t ever been added to the client’s account to setup ads through yet another ad account which was also disabled. All of this to say… it seems that we’ve hit a dead end and need to explore other options. One of our options is to start a new FB page, new IG profile, and new ad account. Curious if anyone here has done this and has any things to think through before doing this? We obviously recognize that we would lose all of our current fans/followers, but right now paid is outweighing organic.
I have a client who is a dentist's office and they want to know if they have a good customer-to-social media follower ratio. They have 7500 clients and based on their follower count 17.83% of their customer base is following. I can't find any data about the actual number of customers to social media followers ratios. And what is considered a good or bad benchmark? Has anyone heard of this ratio before or have a source or data I could reference. Thank you in advance.
Hi everyone! Recently I’ve been noticing a downturn in impressions across several FB pages I’m an admin for - some more major than others. It seems that Facebook has changed its algorithm again, so I’m wondering if anyone has found success with the new algorithm? Is there a certain post type or types that seems to be performing well?Thank you!
Hello! I’m a one person marketing team and I handle the content creation and scheduling for all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram). I’m wondering what content creation is like for TikTok - is it labor intensive? I’ve been nervous to start one in fear that I won’t be able to keep up with it.
The idea that social media is “something the intern can do” is about as outdated as saying the internet is all cat videos. And yet, you don’t have to scroll too far through #MarketingTwitter before you find social media managers venting about feeling overworked and undervalued.Read the full article on the Sprout Blog: https://sproutsocial.com/insights/social-media-manager-job-description/
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has seen a recent dip in performance for any Reels they’ve been publishing.Within the last couple of days, I’ve published two different IG Reels for two different clients:Scheduled and published straight from Sprout. Uses the client’s own sound. Usually their Reels get around 10,000 - 20,000 views and this one doesn’t even have 1,000. Created and published in IG. Uses a popular sound. Usually these Reels get 1,000 - 3,000 views and this one only has 150.I just find it odd that both of these are underperforming, especially after IG working so hard to push Reels. Anyone else seeing anything odd? Thank you in advance!
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), a month dedicated to raising awareness on how to build a more inclusive workplace for individuals with disabilities. I spent a lot of time today reading through LinkedIn, learning what others are doing to raise awareness and I highly recommend you do the same. Some of the hashtags I searched through were: #NDEAM #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityAwareness and #InclusionAtWork. The content shared browsing these hashtags was some great quick tips on how you can take action, or share these resources with the proper teams at your company. My favorite post found today was from Alycia Anderson and included some great tips, TED Talks, a podcast recommendation, and more.Lastly, one of my favorite resources for education on creating accessible social media content is Accessible Social, a free resource from one of our community members @AlexaHeinrich. Go check out these resources and let us know what you are doing to raise awarenes
My nonprofit has been experimenting with ways to use popular music on Instagram reels. One thing we’ve tried is downloading the song from TikTok and then uploading to IG. Does anyone else have good ideas for how to go about this? I’ve seen some pretty major accounts using popular music and can’t imagine they’re not using a business account (for example, the City of Detroit) because they definitely run ads. Wondering if there is a better way, or a training anyone is aware of for reels? Just to note: These are not ads or things where we’re trying to get donations or action, just engagement. Not trying to circumvent copyright law for business gain!
We are a tech company that make smart garage door openers that can be controlled with our smartphone app. Occasionally, we experience service outages that may temporarily leave people locked out of their garages if their only way in is though our app (i.e. they don’t carry keys with them, don’t have a garage door controller with them AND don’t have an entry keypad installed outside of their garage). We are looking for perspective from brands who have experience with this on how to approach the 24-48 hours following a major outage:After announcing that service is restored/issue is resolved, how long do you leave that announcement post up? Do you delete it at some point and if so, when? Do you pause all posting on the following day? How long do you wait to resume your day-to-day publishing activity? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer here!

Hello all! One of my customers from City Government is using Instagram Creator Accounts..mainly to have access to the music for reels. He is curious to know if anyone here has switched from a Creator Account to Business acct. If so, were there noticeable differences in engagement/reach? Is it worth the change so you can schedule and publish through Sprout?
Hi everybody! 👋 I was wondering if anyone has any favorite online training courses for social media marketing/management/customer care etc.? I’m writing an article and I want to feature stand-out courses that can help train those who are new to social, and level up the skills of managers, too!Thank you!
We are a non-profit organization serving 1200 clients annually. We have approx 150 staff members. We are well-known and highly regarded in our community, although most people are not aware of the broad scope of what we offer to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. That’s a big focus of our brand storytelling, especially through social media. Before I began as the marketing director for the agency four months ago, one of the programs that falls under the agency umbrella was given permission to start their own Facebook page. It is specific to that singular program, which annually serves about 150-200 clients. That page currently has about 800 followers, and their posts generally lack any strategic focus or meaty content - and it shows in their analytics. The agency page has well over 5k followers, as a point of comparison.I see zero benefit - and possibly even some harm - for our agency brand by having a redundant social profile for this program.
