Instagram Live with Guests not collaborating

My company recently went live on Instagram with one of our influential collaborators to boost end of season sales. Unfortunately for the duration of the live it would not show that she was live with us so we completely missed her audience.  She is not on private and has no settings on to prevent her from showing she’s live with someone else. Does anyone know why this may have happened?

Contacting Bluesky? Requesting control over branded account

Has anyone had the task of contacting Bluesky to gain control over a branded account handle? I’ve tried a couple of different avenues (reporting the account, requesting help via support ticket) and, as of Friday, I’ve engaged our internal legal team for support. Open to any and all thoughts. Thank you in advance!

One of my wins and perhaps a sign of the times...

Over the course of 2024, I’ve used the time to learn AI prompt engineering using online courses, eBooks, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. I feel it’s critical to know how to optimally leverage the technology rather than be overwhelmed by it.As the quote goes, "You will not be replaced by AI, but by someone using AI," Laurence Liew, director for AI Innovation at AI Singapore. So, I’ll be someone who is able to use AI when and how I want to in the course of my work. Keeping with the curve, if not ahead of it, feels like a win!

Respond or Not? - Angry comments not related to company

I work at a university and we’ve begun getting kind of spammy comments across a number of our affiliated LinkedIn pages from people naming a supposed alum who they are accusing of fraudulent behavior. I’ve done a number of searches both internally and externally to try to connect this person to the person of the same name that graduated from our school AND to the companies they’re namedropping as being frauds and I cannot definitely do so. I can’t decide if we should delete these comments that have nothing to do with anything or leave them be with no comment. I don’t feel like I can comment because I can’t confirm who or what they’re talking about. I’d love to hear what others might do in this situation because on the one hand we want these commenters to feel comfortable engaging with us but we also don’t want their possible misinformation to affect our other customers.

Taking care of yourself AND customers

In response to today’s challenge, my biggest tip for navigating the comment section is to make sure you’re practicing self-care, whatever that looks like for you, and taking care of your team. At a previous role, the company I worked for surprised their customer base in a BIG way, that gave people a lot of big feelings they brought straight to social media. My team had to resort to shift work to handle the onslaught, and were spending full shifts being berated by people. We all know that takes a lot out of you, no matter how long you’ve worked in social media. We made sure to have a supportive team chat running, sent each other treats, and more, but the number one thing I would recommend anyone working in community management remember is to put your own oxygen mask on first.

I work in the healthcare space, so fortunately, we don’t face too many frustrations when it comes to interactions with our brand or products. My focus is mostly on finding meaningful ways to engage appropriately.One tip that always works for me is to personalize every response as much as possible. For example, instead of a generic “We’re sorry for the inconvenience,” try something like, “Hi [Name], thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. I can imagine how frustrating that must be, and I’m here to help!”I’m curious—does anyone here also work in healthcare? How are you creating meaningful engagements on social? I find it challenging due to HIPAA privacy laws, and often, I can’t interact with the positive feedback we receive because of this.

End of Year Brainstorm - #Wrapped Content on Social?

It’s officially grind time to start working on our year-end recap for both our social channels and team reports. Over the past couple of years, I’ve been refining what I want the “End of Year Recap” to look like on social, and I’ve had some mild success with it.I use the Reports tab in Sprout to find and highlight the top posts from the year. Since we’re a healthcare organization, most of these are patient stories, which is great because it allows us to give them some well-deserved recognition again. Specifically on LinkedIn, I’ll reshare the top-performing blogs, noting that they are our most viewed posts of the year, and it usually gets decent engagement.I’m curious—what does your brand or company do, if anything, to recap the previous year? I’d love to hear your ideas and brainstorm together!

Carousels on LinkedIn

We’ve had a ton of success posting Carousels (Document posts) on LinkedIn this year. The engagement is off the carts - typically about 3-4X the engagement we’d see from an image post, and even higher than a video post (most of our image posts perform better than our video posts on LI). Plus, they’re a great format to share more complex/in-depth messaging.

Sh*t posting on Threads

Hello friends! As Threads is ramping up, I’m working on a strategic plan to keep momentum going on our account. One of our goals this year (and ongoing) is to engage more with a younger audience to increase brand awareness. The only thing that’s really seemed to work for us is my being unhinged on Threads. The only posts that get literally any engagement are those that have nothing to do with our brand / usual content. So my Threads slide on my 2025 social media strategy pitch deck that I have to present to our exec team literally says “shit posting = not shit engagement” 😅

This year has been full of big wins, with one of the highlights being the redesign of our analytics reports. As a one-person social team, I typically take the lead on everything social-related, and one of my first tasks was to develop an analytics report. What we had before were just a few slides showing the growth of each channel.Over time, I’ve refined the report—adding and removing certain metrics—and I’m finally at a version I’m really proud of. I’m happy to share it with anyone, including senior leadership (I even presented it to the CEO earlier this year)!On the flip side, one challenge I’ve faced is managing other users in our Sprout account. I often find myself going in to correct errors or mistakes in the posts they create. It sometimes feels like it would be faster to just do it myself rather than reviewing everything they do. To be fair, I’m the one who trained them, so maybe I need to improve my training approach 😅 Does anyone else experience this?

What's one thing you love or hate about AI in social media today?

The ease of using AI cannot be ignored. It helps make posting quicker and easier. However, I do not like how I can scroll through a feed and immediately know which posts are AI generated. There is not enough variation in the tone or vocabulary of the responses generated.

Sunsetting business pages to create a centralized brand presence on Facebook

Has anyone ever worked on removing business Facebook pages for a large company with multiple store/service/business locations and centralizing brand presence on the platform to just the national brand page? I have done this previously in past businesses (though we offered the opportunity to move to a different singular platform with organic growth capability), but I have a colleague who is looking to learn if any other businesses have done this to better support their stance to their teams, and their situation is slightly different.They have about 300 Facebook business accounts that have been dormant for a while, so they are considering working with their teams to sunset those pages. Those 300 accounts are only about 30% of the total number of store/service business accounts, and because they are not considering sunsetting all accounts (only those that have remained inactive for long periods of time), they will inevitably be faced with concerns that they should allow the businesses the

Are frames useful on Instagram?

I’m the social media manager for a community bank that spans across Louisiana and Texas. Currently on our Instagram page, we put the majority of our pictures in branded frames. It’s just a kneejerk reaction from when the bank was smaller and needed to boost the brand recognition. Now that we’re a little larger, I’m not so sure it moves the needle at all and just clutters the feed. Does anyone have any insights about the use of branded frames on Instagram and whether or not they are actually helpful?
